FOUNDATION PROGRAM
SFAI's First-Year Program enhances skills in research, critical thinking, and written/visual expression, and challenges students to move beyond assumptions about what art is and can be. Contemporary Practice is the cornerstone of the first-year experience, introducing students to the SFAI community and resources and exposing them to the range of possibilities for a practicing contemporary artist. The First-Year Program also includes five 100-level studio courses, two art history courses, and two English composition courses. Together, these components lay the foundation for advanced study in SFAI's major and minor disciplines.
This program is Residential.
